Each month, a new character trait is introduced as a building. Student Council members speak to their class and their buddy classrooms about the character trait. They provide the definition of the traits as well as examples of how they can use each trait in school. Teachers also discuss the traits during their class meetings. If a staff member in the building sees a student demonstrating any of the traits, they can give that student a positive attitude slip. Every Friday, an announcement is made for students who received a positive attitude slip to come to the office to be acknowledged and receive a special Trumbauersville pencil. The traits for the year are as follows:

November: Courage
December: Compassion
January: Tolerance
February: Understanding
March: Perseverance
April: Respect/Inclusion
May: Respect/Inclusion
June: Respect/Inclusion
